Christine H. O'Toole is an award-winning feature and travel writer based in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a frequent contributor to the Washington Post. Her work also appears in USAirways Magazine and Continental Magazine, in newspapers including the New York Times, International Herald-Tribune, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and USA Today, and online at goNomad.com.
Chris is a contributing writer at h, the quarterly magazine of the Heinz Endowments, and Pittsburgh Magazine. She is a contributor to Travelers Tales Prague and the Czech Republic: True Stories (Travelers Tales, March 2006) and is the author of Pennsylvania: Off the Beaten Path (Globe Pequot Press 2005; ninth edition, December 2006) and Fun With the Family: Pennsylvania (2007). Her next project is Pennsylvania's Forbes Trail: Gateways and Getaways Along the Legendary Route From Philadelphia to Pittsburgh with Burton K. Kummerow and R. Scott Stephenson. The historic travel guide will be published by Rowman & Littlefield this summer. Chris has won five Western Pennsylvania Golden Quill awards for magazine feature writing and travel columns and is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers. She has recently reported on Glasgow, Liverpool and Pacific Mexico. She is currently accepting assignments in the United States and Europe. |
